Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The title of the story is 'The Wood Collector and the Crocodile'. Once in a village, there was an old lady who collected wood to make her living. She collected wood every day and made a living. One day, she went into the deep forest to collect wood. While she was doing her work, a crocodile suddenly appeared in front of her and ran into the bush near her. She was shocked. Then she was curious and looked there. There were two holes in a tree. The crocodile went inside there. She decided to catch the crocodile. She came up with an idea to catch it. She tightly closed one hole with something. She thought to close one hole and cut the crocodile by using her knife from another hole. But she didn't have anything to close that hole. So she took off her blouse and blocked it. And she tried to cut the crocodile. The crocodile was shocked and ran away. It quickly ran into the water. The woman was angry because she couldn't catch it. And she just threw the knife into the water where the crocodile went in. And she went back home. She was still angry about not being able to catch the crocodile. She went back home without wood. She also lost her clothes and knife, so she was angry. Transcription (Lu Awng) Ya ngai tsun na maumwi a gabaw gaw hpun hta dut sha ai wa hte hkangse a lam re.
