Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) This is what my mom told me before. My mother's name is Tang Bau Dau Nyoi. In the past, our parents used to tell us stories before we were the age of going to school. On rainy days, she used to dig the yam and cook for her. When we asked her to share us, she said, "I only eat these yams. You guys don't eat it." When she was feeling happy, she told us how the Maru Tang Bau clan had happened. This is what my mom told us about it. In the past, people lived in a community. People got the name of their clans while living in a community. In a village, there was one family who spoke the Maru language. Other families spoke the Jinghpaw language. The youngest child from the family who spoke the Maru language had chubby cheeks. He was really cute. People called him 'Maru Pi Pau' or 'Maru Tang Pi Pau'. Later, the nickname was changed to 'Maru Tang Bau'. It has become the family's clan name.
