Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai & Keita Kurabe) This is the story of "The Moonlight as a Witness." Long ago, there were two merchants in a village. Every time they went out for business, they succeeded. They made a lot of money. One day, they set out on another business trip. As always, they succeeded in their trade and made a lot of money. Then, one of them said, "Friend, since we succeeded in our business," "let's go to the hill with the fun place tonight." The other man said, "Sure." "Let's go." When night fell, the two went to the hill to have fun. When they reached the top of the hill, the man who suggested the outing took out a gun and said, "My friend, tonight I will kill you with this gun." "I will take your money." His friend was shocked and terrified. But he said, "Friend, before you kill me," "let's find a witness to this incident." The other man said, "What witness are you talking about?" "There's no one here to be a witness." Then the friend said, "Let's make that moonlight the witness to this incident." He pointed to the moonlight. After that, the man with the gun shot his friend, took his friend's money, and went home. When the man returned home, his friend did not return home. So his wife and family came to him and asked, "My husband, who went out on business with you, hasn't returned yet." "Where is he?" The man lied and said, "Oh, we went our separate ways for business." "I don't know where he went." "I haven't seen him." The dead man's wife and family searched for him, but they couldn't find him. After that, the man who killed his friend moved to another village. Time passed, and the man started a family. One night, when he was out with his wife, he looked at the moonlight and said, "When I see this moonlight" "I feel like laughing." He said to his wife. His wife asked, "Why do you feel like laughing? Tell me!" The man replied, "No, I can't tell you." His wife said, "Why can't you even tell me?" "Is it because" "you don't love me?" "If you love me" "Tell me!" The man said, "No, it's not that." "I love you." "But I can't tell you." His wife insisted, "You don't really love me" "that's why you won't tell me!" "If you won't tell me," "I'll go back to my parents!" She insisted. His wife was so eager to know that, in the end, the man told her, "Long ago, when I went out on business with my friend," "I wanted his money." "So when I was about to shoot him," "he said to make the speechless moonlight a witness." "That's why I feel laughing" "every time the moonlight shines." After hearing this, his wife said, "My husband feels laughing when he sees the moonlight!" "I was surprised!" She told the story to her neighbors. The story gradually spread, until it reached the ears of the dead man's family. The family immediately went to the judge and filed a complaint. They captured the murderer and put him on trial. The man couldn't escape the truth and confessed, that he threw his friend's body into a deep valley so it wouldn't be found, and that his friend wanted the moonlight to be the witness before he died. Thus, all the murderer's property was confiscated and given to the family of the murdered man. The man who killed his friend spent the rest of his life in prison. Just as the murdered man said, the moonlight became the witness, and the truth came to light. Transcription (La Ring) Ya hkai na maumwi a ga baw gaw "Shata Jan Sakse Tai Ai Lam" nga ai re.
