Description:In Likpe, when a community installs a chief, a durbar is held at Likpe Mate where the installed chief swears an oath before the paramount chief in the full glare of the people. The oath swearing is mutually performed by the paramount chief and the newly installed chief of any Likpe community. There is drumming, dancing and merry making.
